After far too long without a release, I’ve just pushed out StrutsDoc 0.5. This release fixes a handful of bugs. Thanks to Steve Caswell for contributing a patch to a validator issue.
You can download the latest release here. The SF Struts site hasn’t yet been updated with information on the new release.
An example of what StrutsDoc looks like can be found here.

In case you missed it (I did), Subclipse, the Subversion plugin for Eclipse, has been updated to support the 3.0 Eclipse line.

I’ve run into two bugs with Eclipse 3.0 over the past few days. One of them is a show-stopper while the second is just annoying.
If your project has generated files, like those created by XDoclet, Eclipse may lock those files after you refresh the project from the Package Explorer. I’ve opened a bug, which can be found here.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and come up with a better resolution than restarting Eclipse?
The second problem has to do with running Ant from within Eclipse. It doesn’t seem that environment variables, such as ANT_OPTS are passed to Ant. In my case, ANT_OPTS is used to increase the heap size so that builds take less time. Since this variable is ignored by Eclipse, my builds take twice as long as builds executed from the command line.
I’m also looking for a decent resolution to this problem. I haven’t opened a bug yet, but I will if anyone else can confirm this.

Ted Husted has just posted to the struts-user mailing list that Struts 1.2.1 (Beta) has been released. The release notes can be found here, while distributions can be acquired here.
Congrats to the Struts developers.

The BBC is running a story about California wine makers using wifi-enabled sensors to monitor the condition of vines. This is a pretty cool use of wireless technology, but it’s unfortunate they went with Accenture instead of System Mobile.
